Doylestown Hospital Visitor Policy

When our patients and their families actively participate in their healthcare it improves, safety, outcomes and patient satisfaction. That’s why we offer open visiting hours for your family and friends, age 15 and over, in many areas of our hospital including Acute Care, Critical Care, IVU, CIVU.

Exceptions to the visitation policy may be made when it is in the best interest of your loved one’s health and safety. Please see the clinical manager, director, or nursing supervisor with any questions or concerns.

Doylestown Hospital maintains zero tolerance for any act of aggression; physical, or verbal. Visitation may be revoked if an unsafe environment is created.

Acute Care, Intensive Care, IVU, CIVU: 24/7

• Up to two visitors are permitted at a time.
• Our open vising policy allows for visitors 24/7, unless a patient is in a semi-private room.
• Between the hours of 8 pm and 7 am, visitors need to enter through the emergency department and check in with our Security team. They will provide a visitors badge that must be displayed at all times.

Labor and Delivery:

• VIA Maternity Visiting Hours

Intensive Care Nursery: 24/7

• Parents/Support Persons with the 2 matching infant ID bands may visit any time.
• No additional visitors.

Respiratory Isolation (COVID-19 and Flu): 24/7

• One visitor at a time.
• Noncompliant visitors may be escorted from the hospital by Security.
• Guidelines are subject to change at the discretion of the Unit Manager and/or Infection Prevention Department.

Outpatient Areas

• In the outpatient setting, patients may have a support person present during their outpatient visit. Clinically necessary or reasonable restrictions may be required in surgical, procedural, and operative areas.

Please use the Emergency Department Entrance after hours. The ED Entrance is open 24/7.

Only immediate family members are permitted into the room. Family members should spread visiting time out so that no more than four are in the room at one time. Applies to end of life patients only.
