As part of Skin Cancer Awareness Month, Doylestown Health and local dermatologists Mary Toporcer, MD, and Shannon Wiedersum, DO, are offering a free skin screening on May 9, 2023, at 6 pm at the Doylestown Health Cancer Institute.
Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Some estimates state that at least one in five Americans will develop skin cancer by age 70. Annual screenings help detect skin cancer in its early stages.
“Although skin cancer is very common, the survival rates increase dramatically when disease is caught early,” says Dr. Wiedersum. “Routine skin cancer screenings can identify pre-cancerous and cancerous lesions in their early stages and will help you learn to better examine your own skin.”
This program is intended for those with no insurance or those with high deductibles/copays who have not had a skin screening within the last two years. This program is NOT intended for individuals currently under the care of a dermatologist.
The screening will take place on May 9, 2023, at 6 pm at:
Doylestown Health Cancer Institute
599 West State Street, Suite 307
Doylestown, PA 18901
Registration is required and space is limited. To register, call 267.885.1580.
